State Regional Development Agency (hereafter – SRDA) is the responsible institution for signing agreements and providing monitoring and controll for both predefined projects in EEA programm LV02 „National climate policy”:
- "Development of the National System for Greenhouse gas inventory and evaluation and reporting on policies, measures and projections". The main objective of the project is to strengthen Latvia’s institutional capacity to improve the national system for preparing, analyzing and reporting high quality information to ensure continuous improvements of the GHG emission inventory, policies, measures and projections and to comply with the relevant UNFCCC, Kyoto protocol and European Commission reporting requirements. Project budget according to the program agreement is 1 981 871 EUR. Project promoter is Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development of the Republic of Latvia in cooperation with partners: Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Latvia, Norwegian Environment Agency, State limited Liability Company Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
- "Development of proposal for National Adaption Strategy, including identification of scientific data, measures for adapting to changing climate, impact and cost evaluation". The main objective of the project is to prepare a proposal for National Adaptation Strategy. Project budget according to the program agreement is 1 209 305 EUR. Project promoter is Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development of the Republic of Latvia in cooperation with partners: Latvian Institute of Aquatic Ecology, Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection, State limited Liability Company Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre and Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Latvia.
